February Wrap Up (and babble, ngl)!

February flew up so fast compared to January, which lasted almost an entire year, and yet I found myself reading many more books than I anticipated. I don’t usually think about doing wrap ups because my reading is really slow and honestly if I read more than 5 books a year that is a miracle. But the point of me coming to the book community was indeed to motivate me to read more and wow has it worked.

January was a slow month with only three books, but fortunately February came through and I read a little more. I decided to take control of my Netgalley account and read the arcs that I had in order to improve my feedback ratio (I’m proud to say it’s now at 71%). For that I had to read a couple of arcs that were approved… last year. I am ashamed to admit. And of course, because I have no self control, decided to ALSO go on a request spree and got myself another two arcs. One of them with a rather rushed deadline as I received it on February 14th and it was released today! I say it was rushed because, as mentioned before, my reading speed is rather slow. Continue reading to know which book I’m talking about 😉

My reading goal for this year was to read 15 books, only 5 more than I ended up reading last year. But it’s february and I have 8 books down already, so I might end up increasing my goal to 20. Little increases to be more sure, as this month I’m starting a new job and probably going back to college later in the year so I don’t know how my reading time will be allocated between those two.

Anywaaaays, I sometimes like to babble and a blog post is sort of liberating? It’s hard for me to interact with people directly so this is the best thing I’ve got. But let’s get to the books I read this month, shall we?

Books Read

The Language of Cherries by Jen Marie Hawkins

You can find my review here.

The Better Liar by Tanen Jones

That Night in Paris by Sandy Barker

Havenfall by Sara Holland

You can find my review here.

The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen

Tweet Cute by Emma Lord

And that’s it! I realized that I actually read six books, instead of five. That’s even better than expected!

Monthly TBRs are not my thing because I am most likely to fail miserably. I tend to read whatever I’m in a mood for but I want to read books that have been in my shelf for a while now. So I might be doing a seasonal TBR in the future and try to stick to it.

Let me know how your february went! Did you read a lot? Did you stick to a TBR or just wing it like I do?
