#5OnMyTBR – 5 Books with Unconventional Formats

Hullo everyone!

It’s been a while since I posted this meme but I just didn’t had book that matched the prompts. But here I am again! And now with books with unconventional formats. Ain’t that exciting? I haven’t read a book with a different kind of format but I’ve always been intrigued. Some people call it lazy but I think it’s just a different way for the author to portray the story and that’s cool.

Remember, if you don’t know #5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @LocalBeeHunter’sNook and you can learn more about it here. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR. Check out the June prompts, they look amazing!

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

When I saw the prompt, this is the first book that jumped to my mind. I’ve been so close to buying it at my local bookstore but always backed away because I was not in the mood for it. This book uses chats between the characters and file formats from what I’ve been able to spy at the bookstore. Now I have to wait until the bookstore opens again so I can buy it 😦

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

This is a recent book and one that has gotten a ot of praise! This book features articles and news reports to tell the story of the characters and I love the idea! while I have not read book, I have read fanfiction in a similar format and its one that I’m very comfortable with.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

I’m sure this book was really popular back when the movie adaption was released, and even after that. I remember watching the movie, and the plot twist at the end shocked me so much I just couldn’t believe it. The believe the book includes more of Charlie’s letters to his dead best friend and I want to read more on it.

Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira

Another book with letters! This is a book I don’t see people talk about. I remember reading some bad reviews, but the story caught my attention when I first read the synopsis and ever since then I’ve had this book in my TBR and wish I can read it someday.

The Martian by Andy Wier

So I didn’t know until I made this list, but apparently this book is written in logs? This is a book that I see get recommended a lot, along with The Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, for being incredibly fun. I’ve read excerpts and boy this is my type of comedy and I really ought to read this as soon as possible!

And those are 5 books on my TBR with unconventional/unusual formats! Some of them have been YEARS on there, but y’all know how it is… the TBR gets overwhelming lmao

It was so much fun doing this meme again, it’s a great way to see and remember other books that are on my TBR and that I’ve totally forgotten about haha
