#5OnMyTBR – 5 Books with LGBTQ+ Main Characters

#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @LocalBeeHunter’sNook and you can learn more about it here. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR. Come share with us a piece of your ever increasing TBR 💕

This week we start celebrating Pride Month with an amazing prompt: LGBTQ+ Main Character

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas

A book I’m very excited about! Preordered this baby a couple months ago and now the publication date has been pushed back to September 😥 In the meantime all I can do is see all the people who got an advanced copy with envy

The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic

Omg I remember this book from when it first came out. I was still a Tumblr baby and step took a peak at this fandom when I started following booklr accounts. I tried to read the first book, but it just didn’t click with me at the time. I should give it another try and see if things are different now.

Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender

I discovered this book so late, even though I saw it all over Twitter it wasn’t a few weeks ago that I took the time to read the synopsis and discover that I NEED IT. Now I have to wait until my next shopping opportunity to get it since it was recently released. I’ve also read a lot of praise, so I’m really excited to get it!

This Coven Won’t Break by Isabel Sterling

This is a fairly new addition to my TBR and I’m actually waiting for my physical copy to arrive. I read the first book about a month ago and fell in love with the characters, so I’m really looking forward to this sequel!

My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness by Kabi Nagata

Another book that I’m really looking forward to reading! And another one from my Tumblr days, I remember there was a post with a couple of frames from this manga and it resonated so much with me at that moment that I wanted to see more about it. Now, just remembering those frames are enough make me feel something.

And so, those are the 5 picks for this week’s prompt! I tried to look for books where the main character was already out and the whole story was not just about coming out. So there’s exploration and casual LGBTQ+ on the bag as well!

This meme is making me realize that there are amazing books on my TBR that I was once dying to get but are now at the very back of my list. And that needs to be solved ASAP!

Have you read any of these books? How did you like them?

Happy Pride Month!
