This week out prompt is Long Books!
The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
This is THE CHONKEST BOY I have, it has 848 pages. And I bought it for Kindle. A big mistake because I don’t think my brain is going to focus that long without going to any of my other apps. I will have to get a physical copy if I really want to read this bad boy. It is SO BIG I’m intimidated just by looking other people’s pictures on Twitter lmao
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
Ia this one cheating? Maybe. It is quite long and thick, with around 600 pages but it’s also not a regular format, instead it consists of messages, images and such. So I don’t think it’s as dense as regular book of that length, but the extra pages is to accommodate the format of the book with the story and dialogue. I’ve been meaning to buy this one from my local bookstore… once they decide to open again.
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
THIS ONE! I’VE WANTED TO READ IT SINCE IT CAME OUT. But every time I go to the bookstore it’s TRANSLATED and I can’t read in Spanish to save my life. My concentration is just not the same and it ends up affecting my overall enjoyment of the book.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
It’s 552 pages long! I’ve watched the movie adaption and loved it but I always like to read the book it’s based off to really have an opinion about it. I cried and felt for the characters in the movie, and I really want to see if the feeling happens when I read the book.
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Another book to movie adaption I watch a long time ago and still want to read the book to see if it makes me feel like the movie did. I loved the movie at the time, and I would still rewatch it if have the chance. I didn’t know it was long either? It’s 540 pages long!
I don’t know what you consider long, but the average book for me is aroung the 300 pages, never over 400. So 500-800 pages are what I consider BIG BOYS.
What’s the longest book on your TBR? Does it intimidate you lmao?
